Sustainability

To ensure a sustainable future, there is little doubt that we must harvest more of our food from the sea while also managing our marine resources in a sound way. That is why we developed spotted wolffish farming in closed containment systems, so that everyone can enjoy this unique delicacy without worrying about the wild stock.

The spotted wolffish is calm and sociable making it perfectly suited for farming in closed systems, and many believe that the fish we deliver is of higher quality than wild caught spotted wolffish. Through optimization of the water quality and feed, we ensure good animal welfare, low environmental footprint, and consistent supply of high quality fish.

The welfare and well being of the fish are key elements of our production. This is achieved by providing the fish with natural environmental conditions and close daily monitoring, which is crucial for producing a final product of the highest quality.

Our fish is a good alternative to wild caught spotted wolffish, while maintaining the same high quality throughout the year. Our production has low environmental impact and should not have a negative impact on the wild populations of the species. WWF advises against eating wild caught spotted wolffish to safeguard the population.
